The main purpose of this research is to compare park utilization and quality of life variables of the surrounding communities. Because a lot of park/trail improvements have recently taken place as outlined in the park master plan this survey will see if utilization has changed. The survey will compare quality of life variables from survey participants, the surrounding community, and Baltimore city as a whole. Once the survey is completed the date will be tested to see if there are significant differences. Overall the survey seeks to understand if the master planning efforts had an impact on community residents and the comments and feedback can guide future planning efforts. The quality of life data (health, BMI, disease prevalence, income, educational attainment) is valuable to show how the park impacts peoples’ lives and provides a basis for whether or not future park spending would be supported by the community.
